Terry has extensive, results-oriented experience in planning, developing and managing organizations, including major universities. He is known for his visionary approach to strategic problem solving and direction setting, and is regarded as a creative administrator with entrepreneurial abilities and high energy. He is an effective leader who can work with diverse constituencies that include state and federal agencies, students, faculty alumni, philanthropic foundations, and community leaders.
Terry formerly served in various leadership positions at the University of Maryland, including as Senior Associate Vice President of Operations and Planning, Assistant Vice President of Business and General Management, and Director of Business Services. During his tenure, he provided strategic leadership for campus facilities, operations and planning departments in order to support the urban academic health science center.
His positions at Towson University entailed progressively more responsible leadership positions that culminated in serving as Associate Vice President, Business & Finance. In this position, his responsibilities included operations, planning and financial management of campus support services with more than 450 staff and a budget exceeding $25 million.
Terry holds a Master of Public Administration from the University of Baltimore and a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration and Marketing from Bowling Green State University. He also completed graduate studies in Higher Education Management from Johns Hopkins University.
His current and past board positions include the University of Baltimore Advisory Council, Yale Gordon College (Chair), Downtown Baltimore Child Care, Inc., National Museum of Dentistry, Board of Advisors, Baltimore Area Chief Financial Officers and Baltimore Collegetown Network, Inc.
